I specialise in helping people who want to build strength and muscle, and develop quality movement patterns and proper technique on compound barbell movements

It's not for you if...

  • You want a weight-loss coach and a meal plan. My clients come to me because I am not a gen-pop PT

  • You want to spend the majority of your sessions on machines, or getting really gassed and sweaty. We work predominantly with barbells, kettlebells, and bodyweight, and we are aiming to optimise MOVEMENT and STRENGTH 

  • You 'don't want to get too muscly' - that's an okay goal, but my clients want to feel and look strong

To me it is important that my clients and I are aligned in our values and that my approach and processes work with you. Better alignment will lead to better outcomes.

The Process

ConsulTation

Whichever coaching plan you decide on, in-person coaching always begins with a free 30 minute phone consultation. This is your free opportunity to get to know me, chat about your goals, ask me any questions about the service and determine whether we are a good fit

Assessment

Your first session will involve as assessment of your movement, mobility, and current strength levels - we love data! And this is where we collect loads of it so we can best tailor your coaching plan for your specific strengths, weaknesses and goals.

Training and Programming

Following the consultation and assessment, we will agree a regular slot for you to come and train with me at Koru Gym. Membership of the gym is not required to become one of my clients.

 

All clients on a pay-monthly membership receive a training program, designed specifically for you. I will consider your goals, your training availability, what you love and what you need to work on, and incorporate all these things into your schedule

Review

 I review your program and our training weekly, to ensure we continue to take into account your lifestyle and availability, and keep you progressing towards your goals. We understand that life happens, and all weeks won't be perfect, so we are ready to adapt reactively

Chloe

Prior to working with me, Chloe was going to the gym semi-regularly but was really lacking confidence. She wanted to try more barbell lifts on her own, but wasn't sure how to set up the bar properly and was worried about what other people might think if she did it wrong. She had also seen people in the gym doing the clean and jerk and snatch and thought it looked really cool, but she had no idea where to start with learning these movements.

Julio

Julio came to me, already with some experience of the powerlifts (back squat, bench press, deadlift), having been following a well-known program template for a few months. However, he was aware that his technique was not quite right, but wasn't sure what changes to make, and he wanted to move to individualised programming that was specific for him and his goals, but wasn't sure how to do this by himself. He also wanted to turn his attention to learning the olympic lifts, whilst still pushing his strength on the squat, bench press, and deadlift.
